I see them from time to time at garage sales. They are about a buck or 2. Never used one though. Looks to me it is only good for bicycles.

Yes, I too avoided them. Same gimmick as that wrench with a pivoting triangle to wedge against the nut/bolt. My parents thought it was a good gift, lol

Might make a good punch holder while smacking the punch with a hammer. I have a snap on version of one.

I have one but it doesn't have the cool red rubber handle. It was a stocking stuffer. It rides in my truck toolbox. Don't think I have ever used it.

My father-in-law does HVAC work and he keeps a small one in his pocket for the caps on heat pump lines. It is his most used, favorite tool. He likes it because it is small and fits in his pocket like a knife, fits all sizes and don't round off the brass caps he uses them on, like normal adjustables. I wanted to buy him a new, quality one for x-mas and could not find one anywhere.

Oh yeah I remember those, they rank up there with the robo-grips, gator grip socket, and the dogbone wrenches. Great gimmicks that grandmothers love to buy, or the kid in my shop who thinks he can fix everything with the last two I mentioned..

They have been around for along time. That design was one of the original adjustable wrench ideas in the 30ies.

Never got one though I remember seeing them for sale, impressed me as being junk back in the day and seeing the photo now, the same thought is still prevailing!

I don't like new gimmicky tools. Sears is always trying to reinvent the good old wrenches or ratchets. I guess I figure that what has worked for me for years is good enough.

Damn! Don't the GJer's impress me. I was just looking at one I bought at a flea market over the summer. I figured that it was was just a general purpose adjustable wrench but had not seen one in use, so I wasn't sure. Thanks for the post!

Worst part?

They brought BACK the dogbone and Robogrip...Not sure if Sears cares enough to try and dust this bad boy out but it wouldn't surprise me. I think I was lucky enough to come about after that...thing was out and about. And I know some people will get irate but, there is a distinct similarity in appearance and general feel to the robogrip and the Knipex one-hand auto-adjustable water-pump pliers...still wonder why everyone raves about one of them but damns another. Got a pair of robogrips long ago...they, well, they don't really have any redeeming quality from my experience.

I love my metric dogbone, it stays on my oil caddy and fits about 90% of the drain plugs i run across.

I received one of those wrenches several years ago as a gift, but I never really used it. As a matter of fact, it's still in it's original package.

Have both sizes and the small one saved me on a egr valve the one and only time I have used them the bolt was rusted and no longer a 10mm and nothing fit it. The bolt was in real bad shape and couldn't get into it real well for some reason I remembered this tool with the front and back off set the way they are it fit just right. Other then that it was just a gift from mom and gets moved from one draw to the next with all the other stuff she has gotten me
She gets these kind of things all the time for me she use to work at sears so she thinks it says craftman it has to be good.

It's part of a loooong line of tools meant for sale to relatives of tool users looking for a Christamas idea!

I have one and like it. Yeah it's gimmicky, but I've used it for over 15 years, never rounded a nut, and it is great for certain things.

Edit: I especially like this for a blind nut situation.

I just found mine out in the garage. I don't recall ever using it or how I actually came into possession of it.

I will have to try it out now. lol

I have one. Received as a gift (probably Christmas) many years ago. I might have used it once or twice.

Also have a pair of Robogrips that I found in a parking lot. I do use those occasionally.
