Anyone epoxy just the center portion?

I have a mat down now, but I kind of want to epoxy under it when it gets a bit warmer out.

I was thinking of epoxying along the shelf line on the left from the front to the back and not getting under there.

Anyone do something similar or is it an all or none thing? The problem is the tube rack and shelving really isn't easily mobile anyway.

On the other little bench legs can I just epoxy around them, wait for it to dry then jack up the leg and epoxy under the leg at a later date?

Never want the coatings to end in space.
Always try and terminate on a joint or wall edge.

If you must, score a key line to terminate on.

No this is not common. Like Scotty said, you never want your coating to end without a termination point. My advice would be leave the mat until you are ready to coat the entire area... Or score a key line and coat with that area.

We have not experienced any delaminating or failures from ending in the middle of an area. If the floor is properly prepped, it should be fine. Generally speaking whatever you do with a paint you can do with an epoxy, just that working times are shorter so you need to mix up in smaller batches if painting around areas that will take some time.
