anyone epoxy over tile?

My office has some pretty ugly color, well glued, linoleum tiles from the early 70's. I removed the same tiles from the bathroom about 5 years ago and my god, that was a pita!!

Anyone strip the wax, sand, and apply epoxy to tiles before??

According to the www, it can be done. However the don't follow up with longevity reports.

But isn't that real, ceramic tile? I have the old, asbestos, linoleum glue down stuff. No grout.

Degrease it, scuff it, solvent wipe, 100% solids flexible primer, 100% solids topcoat.

Pull the primer across (flat squeegee) the tile and backroll, lay the base coat on thick, 12-15 mils. Should look dandy when done.

There have been several people who have documented how they have applied clear over their VCT tiles. Should be the same basic procudure over your tiles, just with a color coat instead of the clear.

Can't stress 100% solids on this one enough. In addition to being a better product less chance of adverse side affects.

Thanks for the help guys! I'll sit down and price a few of the recommend paint out and then price out new tile and even sheet linoleum.
It's an office turning into man cave so I shouldn't need anything too indistructable.
