It looks like some very unconventional framing technique. If that is where a roof joins a wall, why is there what appears to be 2x4 framing on the inside of the roof and inside of the wall including being on the inside of what appears to be a double top plate?

Yep. Creative framing.

From the looks of the nails, I'd say that it's held up to the test of time:

Around here the rafter would have to be tied in a little better (possible wind lift).

But if it ain't broke....

Looks like creative sheathing as well. Who fills in between the rafters/studs instead of on the face?

Wonder if they used fiberglass against the roof deck and no ventilation?

I would tackle that by crouching and bracing my arms into a slow but steady run into the lower extremities.

I'd say call the builder and tell him that the slope is not only off, but it's done with unconventional framing techniques not following the engineering drawings and also that the window is leaking.

And for some reason, the concrete this rests on is also rough in one corner, too wet, while too chalky at the same time, and with the cut lines in the wrong spot.

Not a carpenter by any means but this is new to me. I’ve never seen anything like this before. Appears that the previous owner tried to update the walls by tearing off all of the old shiplap siding and replaced with osb. But they didn’t take the top piece out and replace it with a top plate. The walls are not on the slab foundation due to it not being anchored and there is no rafter board. They also sprayed foam around the sill plate and other places I believe to prevent air or bugs from getting in. Thank you for your help with this project.

There is no top plate. Maybe try to be more helpful, instead of making jokes. You being the master garage builder should have noticed it immediately. Sorry for not pointing out the obvious. Didn’t think you needed a full explanation along with the picture of the rafter butted up to the wall stud.

Given the cheesy framing I figured we were looking at a yard barn. I mean a birding if size would have fallen already.
It’s built like a shed but has a functioning garage door, two windows and a man door. I’ll take more pictures when I get home.

You're doing great! I've found giving people **** while asking for help is super effective. But since you didn't really ask anything, I guess it doesn't matter

@jay23 .. with all due respect, your first post lacked details . you could have been referring to a lot . We often see these one liners with a picture, and the poster never returns. seems some people have nothing better to do with teir time than spam internet forums.

This is a forum full of extremely knowledgeable people, more than willing to help and give advice. Your subject says nothing, and your post says even less. If you expected people to bend over backwards for you when you didn't even start with anything, then you have a misunderstanding of how communication (and people in general) works.

@The Cobbler …. I completely agree with you and everything you said. But with all due respect, I wasn’t given the time or chance to respond. As you can see, most of the people that replied to my post were not helpful in any way. Someone even made a comment about my father. That doesn’t seem like a reasonable person to me. Looks like the majority of people that did respond were just trolling. I don’t know what’s worst, a person that sits around all day and spams these forums or someone who sits around and trolls them all day…. And why is it ok for them to give me **** but when I do the same it’s looked at as attitude?
