Anyone ever work with stab gas fittings?

This is what my natural gas equipment provider supplies for use with underground gas-rated PEX.

Apparently you only get 1 chance to set the fitting. If you do it incorrectly you cannot take it apart.

AND you need some special tools. A "chamfer" tool and a PEX cutting tool.

The chamfer tool is only $45 but the cutting tool is $200. Can I just cut with a hacksaw? Doesn't look like the cutting tool does anything fancy.

Any tubing cutter would work fine. Like one designed to cut brass tubing.

I don't think it's PEX. I think it's high density polyethylene.

Mark your intended stab depth on the side of your pipe before you push it together. That way you can make sure you got the proper stab depth.

This is what they use in my neck of the woods. I ran similar for my propane to the garage - very easy to work with, no special tools.
