Anyone familiar with a Mastercool scale ad-err?

Bought a Mastercool Mastercool 98210-A Electronic Refrigerant Scale. Out of the box, I get an ad-err right out of the box. Calibration procedure does nothing. Mastercool is closer. Google reveals little. Anyone seen this before, and does it mean no-go?

How fresh is the battery? Try a different battery?
