My neighbor kicked a tweaker out of her grandmother's garage, and gave me this old Cornwell 50 DBE that was among the 5 truckloads of **** left behind.
By AA, it is 1935 or 36 vintage. Marked 17 CORNWELL 50, and the finish is plain steel.
Pics might be a little odd as I tried using 'panorama mode' on my phone.
Markings I read are;
56
And on the reverse;
RH USN MD 4 P
Deb was the tweaker, and I know what USN stands for, but I'd welcome any other information.

Ok for old woody...what is tweaker???

The RH and 56 look to be some ones handy work with a punch kit in order to assure it did not grow legs and walk off.

The mystery of the 17 Cornwell 50 has stumped me for the last few years after a long conversation to the folks at Cornwell on their dating and code information; brought me a nice..."oh we did not keep records so check with the AA web-site".

If someone has several old catalogs starting from the earl 1920's and going into the 1930's and 40's it might help too solve the mystery.

The GJ search function stinks...

I think a tweaker is someone who is associated with illegal drugs in some way, but I am not entirely sure which way.

Got it thanks :eek:

This morning at the table I asked my wife and she thought it was some bird.

I thought is was some one that fixed pianos for a living.

But I asked my old friend Ms. Siri and she said drug addict.

You got to love the GJ you learn something new everyday. :rocker:

Ok for old woody...what is tweaker???

1. Person who constantly stays up cleaning, washing, organizing, powertooling, sorting or otherwise keeping themselves busy doing menial tasks.
2. Someone who constantly makes slight alterations on (usually a very specific) object, i.e. computer, software, automobile, etc.
3. A compulsive liar, thief, or both.
4. A methamphetamine ("tweak"), or other form of speed, addict (who displays all of the above in an obsessive-compulsive manner).

Locally at least it is the methamphetamine addict, I've never heard the term applied to other drugs.

#s 1 and 2 will usually not be completed before moving on to the next 'productive' task.

Woody, the only ones I have are loaded up on my site. Not much for Cornwell.
