They work fine, just be aware that you need turn plates under the wheels in order to properly use the camber function. The suspension has to be loaded, and moving the wheels back and forth without turn plates can induce surprising amounts of flex in the suspension. Make sure your location is as level as possible, and doing your measurements in the same location every time helps also.

I have a gauge set but it's nowhere near as fancy as what you linked.

For turn plates I use two stacked pieces of thin masonite under each wheel, with grease between them.

I've used this one which is just a camber gauge. It's worked well for me.

I made one out of a cheap AL level using 10-32 screws tapped into the rail. Each full turn is 1/32nd of an inch. Then you convert 32nds to degrees for the distance you have between screws. Total cost was $4.99.

For caster the math gets more complicated but it can be done.

I use a SmartTool level and made my own jig.

I tired a couple versions of home made turning plates but ended up just putting a bit of sand where the front tires land in one level spot on garage floor. The first few times I drew lines on the floor at 20 degrees but now I just turn the steering wheel 1 full turn (or 3/4 for the quick ratio box car).

I don't care that my caster measurements may be off a bit from actual just so long as they are the same on each side. I spend more time in the left hand lane than the right so I prefer the alignment straight up with no road crown corrections.
