I have some fixed speed models, but have thought about a Metabo 5" variable speed angle grinder. Do current models of the Metabo overheat when running it at slower speeds?

Thanks.

That grinder is designed to run at lower speeds. I have the Metabo tube sander and burnisher that uses that grinder as a power source. No issues with it overheating.

I have the 5-inch VS Inox model designed for working with stainless steel (it has a slightly slower overall speed range). Works great, very smooth. Unlike my Bosch VS grinder, the Metabo doesn't "cog" (stumble) as much when run at slower speeds. No heating issues in my experience.
