I've looked at those Bladerunners a dozen times but haven't pulled the trigger yet. I don't have a metal cutting bandsaw and I think this thing would be a substitute for most of the lighter stuff I cut.

I really like the concept but don't like the table. Really thin pieces of stainless (?) that looks like they would get torn up pretty easily when using it for cutting metal.

I'll probably end up buying one 'cause I don't want to spend big bucks for a metal cutting bandsaw.

The only Rockwell things that I currently have are a pair of Jawstands. They're pretty good quality compared to a lot of roller stands I've seen.

Now if it could handle 1/4" T6061 ........

It takes regular T shank blades, so if there's a T shank that's tough enough for 6061 I think the thing will do it. Just don't know how long it will live.

I don't have any experience with Rockwell other than a corded drill I bought at a garage sale. My opinion of them was tainted after finding out they almost destroyed the Porter-Cable company when they purchased them in 1960. Porter-Cable had an excellent reputation before that. Rockwell let P-C go in 1981 and that is probably the only reason P-C has survived.

That is really the only reason I have not bought any Rockwell tools, but some of their new designs seem to remind me of the innovation Porter-Cable once had. Just some thoughts. :)

I have used that model many times at my grandfather's house. Works excellent!! Nothing bad to say about it.

The only thing I know is that the new Rockwell company has no service centers, and can't provide parts. They are disposable tools. If it fails under warranty, you mail it back to them and they decide whether or not they will send you another one.

I apologize for bumping this thread, but does the following statement still hold true? Please let me know, thank you

Let me Google that for you.......

FOR SERVICE

Contact the toll free Technical Support line at 1-866-514-ROCK (7625) to be directed to an approved service center.

When you send the tool for warranty service, you must also include a dated proof of purchase.

To forego any conjecture why don't you call and ask?

Thanks, I can't stand companies that push their products out through infomercials. Shows how desperate the company's focus is---that is just to make that quick sale. That's why I'm reluctant to contact them.
