I had a classic 96. It was leaps and bounds better than a hf box. It held a ton of tools. I had it loaded heavy, and it took it very well. To hold all of the same tools I had to get a 56 top and bottom and a tool cart. I had to sell my classic when I was in a money pinch.....and I was not wrenching at the time. I paid 3700 off the truck. I dont think they are worth the retail price........but way ahead of a hf box. If I had the money that you are saying you have to spend......I would save a little longer for a krl. They are built very well, and seem to be the industry standard that everything else is compared too. There is a reason for that.

That's almost as good as hard data. I'll poke around again and see what I can find, but hearing that particular difference is important.

Guess what fell off the back of the truck today lol.

Upgraded from my kra 2422 to a krl 1022 picture pretty much says it all. The kra is a great little box but I filled it. Rather than spend 800 for a sidebox, I traded up and into the krl for close to the same money :headscrat

The krl is burly as ****. The slides are much beefier and there is no side to side play like there is in the kra's full length drawers. The space difference is astounding much deeper and a few more drawers make a world of difference. I'm not out any money as my driver gave me what I paid for the kra in trade in value (3rd toolbox upgrade in a year, I've got a problem). The only thing I am going to miss about the kra is the casters. Those puppies are like a hot knife thru butter, while the krl is a little bit rougher but still somehow more maneuverable :headscrat.

Both boxes are super nice and I have zero regrets about getting into the kra first.

It looks like it is quite a bit deeper. The only thing is getting use to those door latches wish they were like the epiq series.
