Anyone have a WWII vitage lathe?

I'm hoping you guys will let me discuss this here. I am looking for some information about WWII era Military contract lathes.

I have several Post Tool wrenches here. They are Armstrong #71 and #76. I'm wondering which manufacturer had Armstrong as the tool supplier during that time. These have military "strike" marks on one end thus verifying the time frame.

If any one has a machine from that era, I wonder if you have the original tools too? I would like that nail down a date for these tools.

I have an old pratt& whitney
I do not have the original tooling but I have several of the tool post wrenches you speak of.
I rarely use them as I have gone over to a turret post that used allen wrenches

I have a WWII era Leblond round top< Armstrong made lathe toolholders for tons of users. It was up to the tooling purchaser to specify the tooling package. I think I have seen more Armstrong than anything else!

Armstrong was huge into toolholders for lathes and shapers for many decades. I am sure it was a big end of their business in the day. As late as the early to mid 1980's you could still buy a set of Armstrong toolholders fitted in a nice metal Armstrong box for smaller tool room lathes of say 9-12 inch swing. I remeber looking at there product catalog at the time thinking it had a nice look to it.

I think they were rockin in the business around WWII.
