Anyone have any experience with a BendPak HD-7W?

I thought I had my mind made up on an HD-9, but the drive-through height is just a touch too close for comfort if I ever wanted to park my minivan under it. On paper, the HD-7W seems to have all the same dimensions as the HD-9, but with higher lifting height, shorter approach ramps, and lower weight capacity. I'm wondering if the 7000 lbs. rating is because of the higher lifting height using the same footprint, or if it's because they use thinner steel compared to the HD-9. Anyone been able to compare the two?

Me, just installed HD-7W last week and finally got to use it. the HD-9 would have been way to LOW and too wide for ME to pasrk another car next to it. As it is now, it is very close to get my wife's Lwexus RX330 next to the lift. I CAN DO IT easily, but my wiofe is going to have to practice.

The Lift's structure can still HOLD 9,000 lbs. It is the same as the HD-9, BUT, it has to do with the extra height and the way it lifts. BendPak explained to me but I forgot. My vette is 3,300 pounds and on the luift, my wife's Lexus RX330 is less than 5,000 so it doesn't amtter to me as the lift can hold it no problem.

I say 100% get the higher lifting lift!

The HD-7W shows the same height/width 100"/116.**"'as my HD-9XW, so it doesn't seem that ratio is the reason for the reduced weight capacity.

Lengths are different, but :dunno:

"These models are configured as high (82”) rise with short length runways. They feature a pull-block system that allows for a shorter stroke cylinder equipped to fit in the shorter length runways. Structurally, all components (except for the cylinder and pull block) are identical to our 9K lift models so you’re not getting a less durable lift. In order to get two-to-one lifting with the shorter cylinder the lifting capacity is sacrificed due to the hydraulics – nothing else. "

This was posted by Jeff last week, along with the specs on the upcoming "M" revision.
