I was walking around Menards yesterday and stumbled on their tool chest aisle. I found that they carry Clarke and had some serious sales going on. The HDPlus line is (in my opinion) an ugly black and gold but the build quality seems very nice. I could get the bottom, middle, and top for a total of only $300 from Menards right now.

This set seems comparable to the nicer ball bearing Craftsman models that would cost me $500 or more. Does anyone have experience with these chests? are they good? any help would be appreciated.

At Menards the bottom is $200, top is $100, and the middle is thrown in for free.

I have the first two (in Red) and they are very good. The rollers are smooth and I have had no problems. They seem to be very sturdy and show little wear after 2 years use. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them

I was going to buy one of these, but then opted for a US-made waterloo box. However, I think they are good value for the money.
