Obviously not "garage" related, but certainly a tool.

Does anyone have one of the new Dewalt 40 Volt Yard tools (trimmer, hedge trimmer, blower, etc)?

Lowes is running a free battery offer which takes the sting out of the initial cost of the tool. I am looking at the hedge trimmer in particular.

Not dewalt but I have the Ryobi 40v trimmer and edger attachment. Works fine on my 1/4 acre yard

Don't think I would get a Ryobi for my needs. Much more than a 1/4 acre and they aren't exactly known to be sturdy tools.

I would love to replace my 25cc string trimmer with the Dewalt 40V. Youtube people like the 20V version but I would prefer the more powerful one, the 40V.

I highly recommend Dewalt (over stihl or echo) simply because of their proven battery technology. Battery technology isn't something people look at but since I came on this board, I highly emphasized battery when it comes to cordless tool.

I love my Black and Decker 20v edger and hedge trimmer. I avoid pulling out my gas yard tools now days. BD and Dewalt are owned by the same parent company so I have no doubt the Dewalt 40v tools will be even better. On a side note my 20v blower is only useful for moving grass around. It does not have the power to move around mulch or stone. Hopefully someone can chime in regarding the 40v blower.
