A cool thing about SIP construction is it's fairly easy to do yourself, along with a couple friends and a hired crane operator. You can fasten the sections together on the ground, then use the crane to fly the parts into place. I remember watching the neighbor's garage go up, they were able to quickly put together sections that were maybe 12' x 20' and then the crane dropped them in place. The whole thing went together in less than two days (and this was a two story structure, with a fairly complex roofline.)
One thing I really liked about his place is it used a big steel I-beam to support the roof ridge. The SIP roof panels rest on top of it, and there's no need for trusses or anything like that - the space inside is totally open.
