I came across this vise at a flea market for a couple bucks. Rusted but moving freely for the most part but I can't get it to close all the way. What interested me was the U-shaped slide. Does anyone have any info they could share. Thanks

Greetings! It looks related to a Joseph Ware patent vise by the James Smart Co. of Canada. I've attached some related material for your consideration.

You may want to reach out to GJ member va.grouseman. I believe he has several Ware patent vises and may be able to add more insight about your vise.

If you find more information about your vise, please update this thread for the rest of us.

Thanks! I appreciate the response. That's great info and gives me a good start on researching this vise. I'll update as I find out more. I'll eventually add more pics as well.

If you could add the jaw width, weight and max opening then I can update the Vise Spreadsheet with your new vise. Thanks in advance.
