Does anyone have this new 12v drill yet? I think it looks great and hope it gets released in the US soon. Anyone know anything about a release in the US?

Thanks,
Robert

Wow Monte! Thanks for those pics! Looks great! I also like how the case looks specific to the drill rather than previous fein cases with foam.

How do you like the drill? Based on the smiley, I'm guessing pretty well!

Thanks,
Robert

Just following on to this - how do you like the drill (to Monte or anyone that owns one)?

In general, how does Fein compare to other drills? price wise, it is like a snap on - are they as robust?

thanks

So far i like it. It´s quite strong but also fast so you can drill into wood quite good. The subjective quality is also pretty good, no big gaps between the plastic/rubber parts. It´s not as small or light as the 12 volt Bosch tools though. Depends on what you want/need....

For those interested, I see this is available in the US on Ebay now and as a kit on Amazon. I have contacted Shane at Toolnut to see when he will have them and if they might be able to do some kind of a deal.

Thanks,
Robert

For those that own this, how do you find the 4-speed gearbox to be?

Also, what is with the removable chuck? Are there attachments that fit, such as bit holders?

Did you ever hear anything back from Shane?

Looks like the quick release and attachments are different from their 18v line?

Hi Monte et al.,

I was also thinking for a drill with RPM for wood work and screw driving.

Is the torque of the ASCM on drilling mode unrestricted?

I am asking because I checked the new Metabo 18v LTX EC (brushless) and it may has been the batteries but I could just stall/ stop the drill with my bare hand.

The guys at the exhibition said it is for protecting the motor etc. but put me off. My older Metabo LTX Impuls (with brushes) would break your hand if you try to stop it whilst on drilling mode.

Also what is the width of the body? I think is a bit wide for the size of 12V.

Thanks

Fein were driving screws amazingly well
