I saw Eric o use a think diag scan tool and am thinking about buying one. The big question I have for someone who has actually used one is this, it says that you can purchase a two brand manufacturer software for $35. Does this mean the scanner wont work at all for other makes , or does it just loose some functionality with them?
Also it is an annual fee, is that just for using it on new model years or does the scanner turn into a brick when the years up?

I am interested in this too. There is another youtuber that got one and used it.

It's an interesting idea. The software looks like it's similar to Launch. The idea is that you pay $40 a year for a makes software and you get 2 brands with the tool for a year. So you could pick GM and Chrysler when you get the tool and it will last a year. Then after that year it's $40 per make. So if you want GM and Chrysler it's $80 for the next year.

Pretty decent price and the tool looks to have bi-directional controls and even ECM program/replace (not sure what all is involved with that).

I am thinking about getting it and trying it out.
