Hey guys, I've gotten an email that claims some folks are getting "server busy" errors when trying to load the forums. Anyone else having these issues today?

Was on it this morning and this afternoon, no problems at all. Most slowness is usually the fault of my IP, Charter Communications, which are the worst in the free world.

I've got an extremely fast internet connection. I haven't had any error messages, but pages are really slow to load at times.

Every now and then it hangs up when I first try to log in and I have to hit refresh. Maybe 1 in 8 times visiting the forum.

I've seen the server busy message once, I think.

Yep, it is sluggish. I kept refreshing this page and it would take from 3 to 12 seconds to reload. Never timed out or gave an error.

I have had an unable to connect message several times this evening. I have Panda Antivirus and it kicks into Panda Domain Advisor very easily if the connection is slow. The slow connection may be triggering this type of software, where if it were not installed there would just be a delay in the connection.

You can definitely tell when the forums are busy in the evening (slow page load times) but I haven't seen any hard errors.

I build web applications for a living, PM me if you'd like any advice on options to help optimize the hardware to speed things up.

I have issues with staying logged in on this site. Often the photos will not load or when I try to click on a photo it makes me log in again. I only have this issue on this site and not on jalopy or jockey journal.

I have also had some issues staying logged in. After a few minutes of not-doin'-nuthing' it would log me out, but I wouldn't know until I tried to look at a pic or one of my subscribed threads. Ticking the "Remember Me" box cured this issue, but I'm not a huge fan of automatically being logged in- it defeats the point of a password. The browser in question is Firefox, on a laptop. When I log in through my PC with IE8, I don't have seem to have that issue.

Never had any error messages, though every once in a blue moon pics don't load the first time you click on them- but that's such a common problem I hardly care anymore. And as Zeke mentioned, I also saw a double-post from Jack Olsen- but too many boards and forums over the years has inured me to that, too, and I've even done it myself, thinking the first click on the "post" button didn't take.

ISP is Shaw Communications, in Alberta, Canada, if it matters.

I get that Firefox message occassionally when my computer can't establish a connection with my ISP.

I don't think it's anything to do with the GJ server.

It's been slow on my end for the last couple of days. I also get a message when I reply to something about unable to connect due to a site token is missing or something along those lines.
