Hey everyone...

Wondering if anyone could supply more information or feedback on these products. I've seen some videos and images over the last year or two of them and was wondering if anyone on here actually "had" one. I've been talking to a distributor and the vendor in Italy trying to acquire information, but can't find much feedback from owners anywhere.

If this is against a forum policy, please delete. I am not trying to promote in anyway just asking for info bc literally none exists, especially regarding installation.

Interesting concept... I'd sooner hang a disco ball in my living room though.

From a practical perspective, are all components standard, and can be sourced widely and repaired by anyone? I know when I can't get parts for something and it needs to be scraped, (or parts need to be shipped from oversea$$$) it is rather annoying....

GL with your search.

Wonder if it would still open up if it were covered with a foot of snow and ice.
I'd rather hide what's inside instead of having it on public display.

Well long story short... I can't build an actual "garage" due to variance and setback requirements. So hoping if this idea was re-proposed to the town it may be accepted to at least store my vehicle out of the elements.

It sure would beat a car cover.

I think it's a neat idea but it would be an eyesore on my property.

Like it for a bike. Not so much for a car. Didn't see any specs on their site for wind. Few anchor spots I can see that flying with the wind we had this winter.

Yea I am trying to get more information regarding installation requirements and how these are anchored. I.E. how long the bolts are, pavement requirements, wind resistance testing.... Not expecting much.

Carport is probably do-able, however it just doesn't work with the aesthetic style of the home or my preference based on where it would be placed.

Strange to say this would actually look better than a car port would in my opinion, at least for my specific home.

I think it is a neat concept, although not for me. I'm surprised you cant contact a few gc's and let them know some ideas of what you are looking for and see if they can make something that you like.

I have contracted a gc to build a carport overhang next to my garage. It would be easy to do a standalone one also, and not a cheap tin metal looking one either. Mine has 6x6's for supports (I beleive maybe 4x4's Id have to double check the architects drawings) and a decorative metal roof with gutters, all approved by Chicago. The best part is that is almost as cheap as a tinny ugly looking metal car port, but probably 10x the strentgh and looks awesome (at least on prints it is not installed yet)

As for a car port, a bunch have been popping up around here with solar panel roofs. I like the multipurpose/usefulness of them. They don't look all that much different than a regular car port, either.

OP, on usefulness, it would need to be made out of some serious material to withstand any wind. Especially if you left one side open and turned it into a parachute. What are the price on these things? Coming from Italy?

On aesthetics, you need to have a pretty modern looking house, in a modern neighborhood for this to not look out of place.

Wonder if it would still open up if it were covered with a foot of snow and ice.

That's the point of it, gazebox. It's meant to show off what you have so thieves know where to strike first.

You buy that to tell your neighbors you're an A-hole... :p

Tommy

I agree. Seems like it would fit well in SoCal to put your Ferrari in.
