Anyone help with some history?

I've searched, googled, and browsed, but have found ZERO information on my recent Matco toolbox find.

Top toolbox is model number MB 710; bottom roller cabinet is an MB 740.

Still going through all the tools that came in the two, mainly cheapo stuff (my Dad says "son, junk tools are still tools until they break"), but one brand I'm curious about:

I've got a full set of Crescent sockets (1/4 & 3/8), ratchets, and combo wrenches. Best I've been able to tell they're sold by Lowes, but is there any link to the Crescent adjustable wrenches?

Pictures always help.
Crescent adjustable wrenches used to be GREAT...they were an independent company, then got bought by Cooper Tools, which is now Apex, and the wrenches are made in China.

Costco currently sells a large Crescent-branded set of tools, including sockets and ratchets.

There is a link - it's the same company, Cooper/Apex.

Back in the 1960's (I think) cooper bought out other companies and one of them was crescent and they made the sockets.

I have a drawer full of old Crescent wrenches, mostly pre-Cooper Tools. The difference in quality is pretty noticeable.

judging by the orange (faded) paint on the roller cab, it's probably mid-late 80's

mac used to have the same problem.

Thanks for the info! She's in pretty good shape, still got to pull the slides apart, clean and dry lube them.
