I'm looking for a program, or even an app for your phone that helps with designing and building swing gates for driveway entry/security.
Does anyone here have any recommendation for a orogram that will allow you to type in some basic dimensions, choose a particular style of gate, and then give you the dimensions of all the pieces etc?
I could greatly benefit from a program such as this. I know I've seen a company called FABCAD? I think, but I've not found much else.
Any help appreciated.

Are you going to build it yourself.

You can google images, take your pick, and build it to scale.

What material? If steel, you will need a sturdy and very heavy anchor. Very heavy, very sturdy.

Yes we build them in shop. By anchor, I'm assuming you mean the 6x6x1/4" steel posts we sink into concrete and then brick around? We've got the building/fabrication/installs of these gates down, and yes, I've even used google to find images to refer to and work off of, but I'm still looking for a nice program to help with the design/layout/dimension figuring and calculations etc, especially when we get into arched/curved tops and picket length etc.
I figure there has to be a program to help with this process, as opposed to doing it the old school way that we've always used.
I'm asking for a program that allows you to choose the style of gate, type in your width/height, and then the program lays out all your picket spacing/picket lengths (every picket is a different length in some arched gates etc etc. Basically a program designed to save setup/layout/figuring time.
We get by using old school techniques, but I was hoping in todays day and age someone had a program for this. Kind of like an AUTOCAD program for gate builders. In fact, I know I've seen such a beast. I just don't know if it was a custom one-off program the particular company was using, or if its something widely available to the public etc.
Hope I made this clear enough.
