Anyone here done business with Abstract Tool?

I ordered something from online vendor Abstract Tool. This is the first time I've ordered from them. After I got through the checkout process, I was shown this:

That seemed a little fishy to me. My card is good. I went to the bank website and saw the charge in pending status, indicating it was approved:

Called the credit card company. They confirmed it was approved and advised me to watch for double-dipping. They don't think I should trust this merchant. I tried to communicate with the merchant using their web contact form and that failed with an error, which doesn't give me warm fuzzies either.

Anyone else done business with them? Did it come out ok?

You might think and check out Pay Pal,then you won't be giving out your credit card information to many different vendors.
That is very bad advice. Credit card purchases have legal protections and (usually) issuer protection policies about fraud liability, whereas PayPal has earned a reputation for leaving defrauded consumers dangling.

I had a similar issue this past year with a website offering garage door parts. I did pay with PayPal, and when the **** hit the fan I contacted PayPal and they resolved it quickly, refunding my money. As long as you pay with "regular" PayPal and not the "send money to a friend" option, they'll have your back in a scam situation.

I think you are being scammed.... better call your credit card company and monitor the situation.

Even if it "might" not be a scam site, the contact info is really shady...

your credit card processing is from OH, contact phone is Idaho, Mailing address is to a home in Florida... that is questionable .... with two similiar street address... the other address is a 7-11...

Yep, I came to the same conclusion based on the link MT sent. Already reported it to cc company as fraud, and they're sending a new card via next day air for free.

I think this is the first time I've been suckered by something like this. Normally my spidey sense is high. I suppose I was lulled by the prices being within the realm of the reasonable. Normally these sites will offer a $200 item for $30 and you know it's too good to be true. This was a $17 item for $13; more believable. And it was indexed by Google Shopping (which is where I found it).

I'll take it as a lesson. The public embarrassment here can be the salt in the wound, so it can leave a scar to remind me.
