Description says 6x12 drawers per lot, if you look, each cabinet is 12 high and 6 wide. So a 72 drawer card cabinet for starting bid of $100 is beyond a great deal.

edited: plus there are 27 lots so you have a really good chance of getting them cheap.

VERY cool. But who can wait 5 days to buy something?!!??

If it doesn't go crazy, I'll try to grab one or two.

Just realized they're super close... I drive by that area everyday. Ugh.

I was in, til it mentioned they don't include those claw feet. All my current tool and part storage have claw feet. Kidding...
Those make awesome storage. My father grabbed one when the town went digital in the 90's. Maple, looks 40's or 50's, huge and heavy. Atleast 72 drawers and each about 18in deep.
Now I have to watch the bidding as I could be there in 30.

I had one at one time. They are an odd duck. Tons of storage, but not a lot storage space. The drawers on mine had a 1/2" wide X 1/2" deep channel running through each drawer for the card rod. It made it kind of a PITA to keep small loose parts in there due to the channel.

Without a doubt cool as heck, but not sure how practical they are for storage.

They are kind of odd.
On my father's he pulled all the rods which left a slot down the middle. Cut down oil quarts for containers span the gap and fit perfectly. On about a third of the drawers he cut down thin ply for bottoms to cover the slot.

I like what I see. Luckily I don't live close by.
I can just imagine my wife saying to me "Don't you have enough garbage." "If it sleeps in the garage you sleep outside."
LOL

You're killing me Anthony, I'm way down here in Loserana....

Good thing I'm not your Secret Santa.. It'd cost me an arm and a leg to hump one of these things down there!

Looks like about half the card catalogs have bids. If they stay cheap, I'll buy one and offer cash for others that don't sell when I go to pick up.

That's just crazy, there were lots without bids and there was an auction here local that had a bunch of map cabinets that went for 4-5x the price these went for...:eyecrazy:

Hope you guys scored one for me

Just left the loading dock with one. THEYRE HEAAAAAVY! Some people were buying a dozen. They also had large catalogs that they were letting go for the same auction, but they were massively heavy even without the drawers.

My grab

The big ones, there must have been 7 or 8 left.

I may have won another card catalog a few weeks ago... Picked it up from Boston Public Library this week and got a tour of the basement... Such a cool experience. There's an incredible amount of heavy old furniture down there. Also made friends with the gentleman who lists the surplus stuff. :)
