Woa, that is super cool. Not sure if I could justify $150 worth of cool, but still cool nevertheless. I wonder what the original purpose was? For some reason I'm thinking medical. It just screams something out of an old creepy hospital. :dunno:

Looks like there was maybe a top piece at one time? I wonder what the dimensions are? If you do get it, please post a bunch of pics.

It will make a nice project to restore. It is 60 years old, give or take.
Great cool factor. It looks like there was another box on top that is gone. I wonder if it was a store display? In my 55 years of collecting, buying and selling I have never seen another one. I am sure it is worth what you paid. I am supper cheap and I would have picked it up for that. Nice score. If it were mine I would take it apart have it sand blasted then do all the body work and have it powder coated. They I would put it in my architectural office just to have something to talk about.

My grandfather ran a garage from 1930 to 1974 and had a cabinet like this. I don't remember whether it had a top cabinet or not but it seems to me he got it from a dentist office.
I know he kept his reamers and such in the bottom part. Dad sold it in the early 80's.

Man, between that old one and the new swivel chests I am getting some serious cool box envy.

Looks cool, but seems like a waste of space not having rectangular drawers.
