I picked these up at a recent sale and I only have guesses about what they are. They are aluminum, about 18" across.

^^^ yup, I have 3 of them indifferent sizes

they're to hold the flywheel when removing/installing the crankshaft nut that hold it on.

not really required for removal with an impact, but useful to torque the nut when installing it.
