Got this nice cast iron base a few weeks ago and was wondering if anyone knows what it originally came from.

Are there any details like mounting points under the top where a motor may have mounted? I'm not seeing woodstove at that height, and with the specific pattern of cutouts. More a machine base or industrial sewing machine.

In the first picture you can see a piece attached to the closet side and it looks like it could be part of a motor mount, the kind where gravity keeps belt tension

I'd say it's the base for a 2 burner gas laundry stove. They were common before WWII in home basements when oval copper wash boilers were used. My grandparents had one in their house that was built in 1920. During prohibition, they came in handy to fire the still.
