I was recently given a bag of misc hand tools. One of the items is something I have not seen before and the person who gave them to me has no idea. Anyone know?
Inphx got it right. Chain pliers for adjusting length of chain suspended lighting fixtures, etc.
One of those tools you dont need often, but when you do you do.
I haven't seen a pair of those in a good 20 years. My first journeyman when I was just starting as an apprentice had a pair. He did a lot of the residential service calls for the company and it seemed like every day he was dealing with light fixture chain.
Very 1960's/'70's! I see in my mind's eye a guy in flare jeans and a cotton plaid shirt on an A-frame ladder using that while the permed housewife admiringly watches the work.
