I'd be grateful if anyone has the OEM for this auto drain. Thanks:thumbup:

I don't know that one, but if you just need an auto-drain McMaster-Carr has the electronic Posi/Sure Drains.

I have an auto drain (the one in the picture) Bought it from McMaster but they won't tell me who made it (and we lost the paperwork). So, I guess I could buy another one from them, find out who is the OEM, and then send it back to McMaster for a refund, but I thought I'd try here first:beer:

I went to the McMaster site and could not find your drain. I would like one- as I understand it dumps the air when the compressor is off?

Yes, if you wire it that way. It has several settings. I can find part no. for you.

Wow. Thanks. I did have that name written down, but I didn't think it had anything to do with this one, despite the EC label. How did you find it?

combination of luck, skill, and my (currently) hobby of sourcing out all this type of stuff.

Nice. There's something to be said for that kind of skill. I'm okay at it, but appreciate a master at work

PS. I had tried googling variations of all the info imprinted on the casing w/o luck....

Here's the page with the drains I use:

http://www.mcmaster.com/#condensate-drains/=6150a6 It's the "C" unit.

Because i know what the unit looks like I can thwart their efforts to keep me from knowing what I'm buying:bounce:

I must be dense. I can't find anyone tagged a "c" ??

Do you know who makes their fan coolers?

I usually end up buying from McMaster anyway, when all is said and done, because the price is reasonable (at least on high end stuff), and service it tops, But I get annoyed that I can find the brands very easily (sometimes an op will give you the info).

I'm going to be making some upgrades to my compressor system -- probably better (and larger) separators, a dryer, and some repiping soon.

I'm put off by the fact that it's taken me some time to wrap my head around what exactly I need and what's the best stuff out there at a good price, given all the other stuff I've got to do here.

I found it in the catalog:

it's item "b" in the illustration. It 9831k31 or k32. Don't remember which now.

I'm looking into a silencer for this thing as everyone jumps about 10 feet when the thing goes off.

And I hardwired it in (the black wire shown in photo is now ensconced in conduit ) and runs along the side of a steel 4 x 4 that encircle the compressor -- , maybe not so smart, so it goes off all night, every 45 minutes. I'm thinking of wiring it so I've got a switch at the outlet into which it's wired, and I can turn it off that way. Maybe an out let with one switch/one 120/20...

The bastages make the page the first of the section . You need to go to page 949.

A photo of the hard-wiring of the auto-drain. I think I will rather have it on a switch instead.

To silence these... put a ****** after the outlet and then a bleeder valve open partially and you will be able to tolerate the noise as it will cut it in half...

Thanks for the link, Thump.

@autoclassicnut: this might be the way go. Def. worth a think. It was either that or a silencer that McMaster sells.
