anyone know who makes this German set?

Bought this at a yard sale last week, only 5 bucks. There is no mention anywhere about who makes it. I'm guessing it could be a default tune up kit that came along with a German import at some time , but I have no clue. Anyone have any ideas ?

Looks like an old China/Taiwan set.

If it says MADE IN GERMANY on the tools then great, but the box label written in German is a different matter.

Asian tools get boxed up with German sounding names or the labels written in German. Also, on this side of the pond at least, we some with American sounding names and stars n strips.

Nope, there is no info on its make at all. I was hoping it would be an actual German product. The design is definitely German however. I've seen some hazet and facom sets with similar ratchet designs, although this one doesn't have the quick release and the chrome isn't all that polished

Looks like an old China/Taiwan set.

I agree. Looks like it was made for the European market by the style of the ratchet, but the tools, especially the ratcheting driver and sockets scream Asian import.

There's one glaring issue that tells me it's probably not German, look at the larger sockets. The square drive holes are not lined up with the hex openings. No consistency.
And yeah, that ratchet does look cast.

That ribbed black handle on the ratchet along with the rectangular black case screams China/Taiwan. Could be wrong, but its most likely an Asian set.

My first thought was a cheapy "domestic" €30 socket set - I had one in Italy, made in italy, was decent if you had nothing else, and better than Taiwanic... but it just doesn't look that good. I would say China/German Tool Manufacturing AG (where AG in this case means "Around Guanddong"...)

I would say its Asian too, I see lots like this used around here and they are not great, for $5 it makes a useable household or loaner kit.
