I do. Here are a couple of bench and low angle planes. That bronze Lie Nielsen No. 4 might just be the favorite tool I own...

So post up your hand planes! What do you got?

I have few hundred. The newest are Stanley's from the 1940's. I have a bunch of scraper planes, carriage rabbets, Bedrocks, wooden molders, etc.

Yep, I like to shape wood by hand every now and then. It's fun! You have a nice collection. I'd have to dig through some stuff a while to find all of mine. However, I do just happen to have a picture of a small block plane sitting inside my wood tool box. Woodshop is fun!

I have a squadron. Mostly 21st century Veritas and Lie-Nielsen, with a smattering of vintage. Both bench and joinery.

Not quite a plane, but these things are also fun for shaving wood. :)

Here's a few more Lie Nielsens. I definitely want to add more to my collection. No. 5 Jack, No. 6 Fore and Nos. 7 & 8 Jointers are on my short list. Well made USA tools.

Nice! Do you make chairs with it?
Nope.

Interestingly my wife came home from a "flee market" with that thing a couple of months back. She didn't even know what it was, but thought it looked cool for a decoration. :)

So I sharpened it up and showed her what it was for. I just carved out a handle for an old hammer head I had laying around. That's all I've done with it so far.

I've also got a couple of old hand planes, but they need a bit of cleaning up. I've got one that's marked "Bailey USA" on the body and "Carter" on the lever cap, so I'm not sure if that's a Frankenstein one or not, but it works ok.

I've also got a really old Australian one marked "Pacific - Mem Tools Sydney" that someone recently gave me from their grandfather's estate. I'd never seen that brand before.

I have quite a few. Mostly Lie-Nielsen with some Stanley and Veritas thrown in.

That cabinet and collection is awesome! Do you have any issues with rust forming on the saw kerfs held in place with wood like that? I made something similar for some chisels and they rusted pretty badly.

Unless I'm doing trim work or something special, a power planer is my go to planer. Got a few hand ones I picked up over the years, nothing great. But since it seems like a knowledgeable crowd....I've got one maybe one of you can shed some light on.

It's an old Bailey no. 5. You can see in the pic where it has been stamped DAMAGED. I've always wondered who marked it and why they marked it. I can't see anything obviously wrong with it, but the stamp must be there for a reason. Any thoughts would be welcome.

Stanley apparently did that with planes that had some slight cosmetic damage.

I have this Stanley 45 that my FIL in gave me that was his fathers. It is pretty crusty. It appears to designed for cutting moldings. I literally know nothing about this plane. I can't imagine doing that by hand!

Could be cosmetic damage as stated above or perhaps body isn't cut perfectly square? Looks like a really nice plane to me :)

That's great and awesome that it was your grandfathers. It is a combination plane used for many different cuts. Read all about it hear http://www.supertool.com/StanleyBG/stan6.htm

Somebody say handplanes?

I've thinned the herd over the years but kept all the Stanley Type 6a and some others that I like for one reason or another. Some Lie-Nielsen stuff and Adria saws too. A few odd-balls here and there. I used to use them a lot, lately not so much. I should pull them out of the shadows.

My dad finally gave me the one his dad gave him as a high school graduation present. He turned 83 last week, so it's been around a while. He has one his great uncle gave him that is about 2' long that I will likely end up with someday. Hopefully not soon. :(

It is in Missouri so I can't take a pic.

I love Stanley pre-WW2 planes. I have many--all working planes, most have Rosewood handles and are of the SW Hart era.

The girl in the tan leather jacket 'went home' with the pilot of the F4u......the next day he commented "Hey, call me back any time for one of the events if this is how I'm going to be treated."

Later on it got kinda 'fun'......one of these girls was not wearing underwear....DAMHIK
