Anyone know of anyone that makes 3/8" drive 1 1/8" deep or semi-deep impact sockets? I know it's a little large for 3/8 drive, but being a truck mechanic, it would make changing airbags on trailers a lot easier if I could find one.

I saw the title and said to myself "why the heck would he want it 3/8 drive?" But after reading I know exactly where your coming from. So glad I don't do tailor work anymore. I have never seen one that's a 3/8 drive. But I'm sure someone out there makes one. Good luck.

They just don't leave enough room for most 1/2" impacts, and definately not my Nitrocat 1250. I hate working on trailers, but it comes with the job.

Yeah man I know I worked for a company that had 90% of their fleet OTR and 10% small box trucks. The trailers are the worst man. From there I left and got hired on at a concrete conpany here in so cal and have been here 2 years. At first it was a pain but once you learn the equipment it's easy. We have our share of tools that you absolutely need to get the job done. And some of those are home made...HAHA

That may work.

I got this set and wanted to love it so bad.....but, the magnets are pretty weak and I find the whole damn thing just falls off the ratchet or gun with the adapter still stuck in the socket.

I need to drill a hole in mine so the detent pin and/or locking pin will hold that sucker. Then it might be good enough. The socket will still fall off easily though.

My first job turning wrenches was at a concrete company. I definately don't miss beating the **** out of everything just trying to chip off the concrete to get to the bolts. Or all the clutches because the driver tore it out in the mud.
