I'm looking for something so I can be notified of someone at the front door of my home while I'm out back in the garage. I got one a while back, but the sound was terrible, and there was a slight delay that made it useless. Does anyone know of a quality unit that really works well? Thank you

I bought one at Lowe's about 2 yrs. ago. Seems to work fine. You can plug in the receiver/bell anywhere within a 120 ft. range. The button (transmitter) runs on a 12V battery that seems to last forever. I think I paid $30.00 bucks for it. (Didn't read the intercom bit) Mine's just a doorbell. Mighty Mule make some wireless intercom stuff though.

I bought two of them a few years ago for my house so I could hear the doorbell in my basement. I don't remember the brand. I have steel siding on my house, so that cut their advertised 100 ft distance to about 5 feet. They are somewhere in my junkbox now.
(also, rain got into the outside transmitter and shorted it out at times.)

I have one of these with four sensors placed at key points - LOVE this system.

I always know when anyone pulls in my driveway, or if anyone is at any of my access points / doorstep.

Each sensor makes a different tone come from the "announcer" box when tripped.

Get one Groucho, you will love it.

i picked up a cheaper wireless doorbell system from home depot, it does the job and is easy to install. The first one I bought was DOA though... go figure. the range is a couple hundred feet and you can get multiple doorbell switches... haven't tried to hook up another bell though
