Anyone make a mini crescent wrench?

Anyone make a plain-ole mini crescent wrench that fits in a pocket?

I like having my Leatherman for small quick fixes around the house or on the go. The one thing I miss is the wrenches and sockets which got me thinking if I could find a mini crescent wrench that can slip over 1.5" nuts and bolts that would be a great compliment to the leatherman. Many times a little twist to tighten a visibly loose bolt or nut is all I ever need.

I don't know of any adjustable wrenches that would fit comfortable in your pocket that have at least a 1.5" opening!

Yeah, for something that small and looking for a 1.5" opening isn't going to happen. I have a mini adjustable in my fishing box but it only opens to 1/2" or 5/8" max.

The smallest I can think of I've seen with a 1.5" opening is a 8".

Crescent and Klein both make 4" adjustables but again your stuck at about 1/2" capacity. You could buy 6" Ridgid pipe wrench and be at over 1" capacity.

At Sears we sold them; Craftsman has a 4" one ("chrome" or black oxide)... we used to sell quite a few during Christmas as stocking stuffers or something to put on your key chain!

I'll look at the 4" ones but I was hoping for at least a .75" capacity. Maybe I'll have to introduce a 6" wrench to my grinder...

I usually have one of the Craftsman 4" adjustables in my overalls for adjusting and setting up machines.

They're nice wrenches.

I tried to find something similar via two direct from China retailers, but that didn't go so well.

Still, 1.5" jaws is quite ambitious - I cannot imagine something with that capacity fitting in a pocket easily.

What about something like Snap-on's adjustable crowfoot? There might be a cheaper alternative available somewhere.

I'm sure this'll sell pretty well if it were available in NA.

They are shaped ergonomically so that there's a place for your index or middle finger to rest and gain better control of the tool.

Seems awkward to carry around "just in case" to me. Then again, I hate nut-rounders with a passion anyway. I doubt I've used one in 5 years.

Why not get a ford wrench/monkey wrench/whatever you want to call it, probably a better answer for you.

Craftsman has a 2" and 3" sized adjustable wrench. Not sure what they cost, but have seen them on the shelf along with their 8 in, 10 in, 12 in , and 15 inch adjustables.

I have a Snap-on 6" pipe wrench, it's freakin' awesome. I use it all the time, great for rounded nuts and bolts as well as countless other things. The jaws bite like nothing else, it's actually a really handy tool, despite most people thinking it's pointless.

The pipe wrenches are a good option but I haven't seen a small/light enough one to carry in a pocket and two they marr the metal.

Take a look at the KNIPEX 8603150 Plier wrench, will handle a 1 inch fastener and is only 6 inches long. If I were only going to pack one adjustable wrench on my bike this would be it.

a knipex plier wrench is a much better option, no stripping heads... and has more versatile options.

I also needed a stubby crecent wrench could not find one, and the adjustable crowsfoot from Snap On only open to an 1.25 inch. what worked for me was buying a 10 inch adjustable and cutting about 5 inches off the end. worked for me I can take a picture of it, if anyones is interested.

That would probably be your best option, buying a bigger one and grinding it down to what ever size you want.

As of last week $68 bucks my Snap On rep has one on the truck, but again it only opens 1.25 inch.
