This past spring, we traded in out 2005 Expedition. 3 out of our 4 kids are now driving their own cars so we decided to downsize our vehicle to help save the planet from the gas sucking SUVs...........and save ourselves a bundle (the real reason). My better half loved that damn truck, but, she gave in when she drove a 2013 Fusion.
Within a few days, we realized we made a mistake when the Fusion started self destructing in the driveway.
That issue was solved when Ford bought the smoking pile back this fall.
That problem, along with the issues my FIL has had with his 2010 F-150 has put us off on buying a new truck.........so we are looking at used.
The problem here in central NY with used is either they are rotten piles or the seller wants $25,000 for it.........or both.
She has found a 2002 F-150 outside of Philly that looks pretty decent http://www.carsforsale.com/used_cars_for_sale/2002_Ford_F150_214182255_3# but we are 4 hours away.
Does anybody have a few minutes to stop at this guys place and look under it for rot, check for the "5.4 tick" and/or cracked exhaust manifolds? I have talked to Robbie (the owner) on the phone and he seems pretty straight-up, but, been there done that.
This HUGE favor would be much appreciated.
