I don't know why but I just remembered seeing this post. Sorry for so long in replying.

This cabinet IMHO is a good buy for the money. The drawers work fine when loaded. While heavier gauge construction would be appreciated, I think it will hold up fine for my typical home use. I've had it since January and it still looks and works like the day I got it.

For my use of general home tool storage, I would have gladly given up one of the thinner drawers to have the longer bottom drawer deeper.

The wood top is included. It seems solid enough but i won't swear that it is hardwood.

bozz,

Looking forward to your review. I currently have the HF 44" tool cabinet, but I need more storage space. I really, really like the very wide and deep (front to back of the unit) drawers.

Thanks,

That top drawer is a monster. May have to look into one of those, I'm out of room in my HF 44" and need to start looking at my options.

I sold mine for 100$.
Too flimsy the drawers would distort with the c-clamps I had stored in it.
The large drawer needed to be opened in the center or it twisted. My KRL 1032 with a bigger drawer (69 inches) can be opened from one side with no twisting and pulled open with 1 finger.
The top on the one I had I believe was bamboo. But they have come out with different ones over the last few years and some have gimmicky features like clear drawers. Some drawer changes also.
It is cost effective but not sure of the lifespan with out difficulty, and the source of replacement parts like slides might be in question.

I'm sure it is not as heavy duty construction as a truck brand. But it is sturdier than the ones that HD has in the stores or the cheaper boxes you see in Sears.

I don't have an issue with twisting or distorting drawers but i don't have them as loaded as I guess some would load them. I still have one drawer that I haven't put anything in yet.

HD truck rental and/or HD trailer rental will get it home for under $50 for both rentals. HD manager might work a deal

Sorry for the late response
I ended up returning the box for several reasons. The box was slightly damaged from shipping and I did not notice until it was unpacked (several minor dents). When closing the top drawer it would lock so I had to unlock it almost every time. I fixed that by shifting linkage around and filing a notch on rear of drawer so it would not catch. I also had to mess with the drawers in order for them to close smoothly. I liked the fact that I could fit all same type tools in one drawer. You need to watch the weight in the drawers or place heavier hammers or wrenches toward the rear...The drawer action was ok. Wood Top was nice for a toolbox. I ordered online and scored a bit of a discount but you need to ask for it. Paid for the cheapest shipping but the freight guy helped me push it up the driveway because shipping box was damaged and we unboxed it on his gate
I made the decision to return the box for reasons above and I was also moving to a smaller shop.Really easy to return and they offered me a future discount because of all the trouble.
I still really like my older craftsman grip latch box!
