Looks like some "no name" inexpensive hardware. Probably grade 5 if that. Plenty strong for the application.

Thanks. I was thinking that it was a no-name brand also.
The hardware it uses are 5/8-11 and 1/2-13 nuts and bolts. No washers at all.
I was considering upgrading to grade 8 hardware with washers. Overkill?

I would not worry about it. Most of the hardware on a press is in shear stress, not extension. I doubt that you could ever harm it. My OTC press is probably 35 years old and the bolts all probably look like new. They really are not under much stress at all.

What you want to do (upgrade to Gr5 or Gr8) is not a bad idea if you ask me. Required, no, but everything is built to a price-point and shaving cost is a continuous activity.

No hash marks so probably a simple Grade 2 fastener

I’m familiar with Lewis Bolt and was hoping that it was their product, but I hadn’t seen that maker’s mark before.
I will likely upgrade to grade 8 simply to appease my own mind.
I have to admit though, I stole the press on Amazon. $627 with free truck freight so that makes it much easier spending a few dollars more to upgrade the hardware.

I wouldn't waste my time, the a 12 ton press would hit relief before you shear a bolt. A 50 or 100 ton press on the other hand....

Years ago, when I had my Goldwing, I bought a motorcycle jack, but don't remember if it was Sears or HF. Everyone online suggested changing the bolts, as the jack was mfr.'d in China, and the bolts were known for breaking when the bike was in the air. I replaced mine and never had a problem.
