anyone recognize this brand?

I bought 2 hands full of screwdrivers for $2 mainly to get this one. Something about it I liked. I cleaned off the grease and grime but I can't quite make out the logo. It's a long, 6 sided shape with three letters, possibly PEC. Outside there's the old R-circle and maybe a 55 part number, and USA. I've found a contemporary PEC but they seem to make precision measuring tools mostly. Then I could be wrong about the PEC although I pretty sure about the P and the C. It's not much easier to read than the pictures show. It's an 8 sided wood handle.

Yep, P&C woody. Only seen one or two before. Look up Jabberwoki, he is the resident P&C guru on here. I bet he can tell us all quite a bit more about it.

They haven't existed for a long time; were an early acquisition of Plomb before the name change to Proto...
