That is a Athol vise in your post. Looks to have been used well and not abused to extremes. Athol vises are heavy duty and are worth picking up if the seller doesn't want the sun moon and the skies for it.

Just heard back from the seller. What do you guys think about this:

The front (moving) jaw is 3-3/4” wide, the rear (non-moving) jaw is 5-1/4" wide.The lettering on the side reads “FULTON, LOWVILLE, NY and (image of five-pointed star) 2-1/2”

It's kind of weird to have 2 different width jaws, right? You think this is some kind of Frankenstein job?

Two different size jaws. that is odd. some times there are casting numbers on the static and dynamic parts of the vise, see if the numbers match.

I researched those star vises before. Can't remember all the details, but cool I do remember.

I zoomed in and the jaws do look different. But what the heck is that thing next on the dynamic jaw...that rectangle?
