Im looking for a laser level for home use (not looking to spend hundreds as its not being used in the field)

Does anyone recommend a unit that is good quality yet reasonably priced? Id assume a self leveling unit would be the way to go?

I was looking at this Bosch unit.. its cheap and includes a bubble level (not self leveling though) http://www.toolbarn.com/bosch-gpll5.html

I use one of these. I got mine for about $40. It's easy to level. I think the self leveling ones are more than twice that.

Hey Mike Web -

I have a cheaper version similar to what Garage Mahal recommends and love it.

One option I use more than I anticipated is the ability to shine either a "dot" or a "line". The line feature is great when laying tile, cutting carpet, etc..... I simply clamp my level to a ladder/stool/whatever and cast the line accordingly. Beats the snot out of goofing around snapping chalklines or working around lengths of mason's line.

I'd take a picture of my el' cheapo, but the Wife has the camera today.

Cool. I've been needing one of these. I saw some of the more expensive Bosch, but couldn't bite the bullet. How's the cheapie Bosch? Probably what you'd expect for $30?

The Hilti looked nice too, but man what a price
