We used a excavator as a wire stretcher once apprentice cut the underground service lines too short and instead of splicing it we hooked up to the excavator bucket and pulled 6 more inches from the transformer.

Worked for NAPA back in the day, when we mixed paint we used to send new guys to another auto parts store for the "Paint Can Expander". Sometimes the paint formula would be too much to fit in the can.

The counter guys at the next store would say, "Ahhhh, well somebody else borrowed that, you'll have to get it from them." And away they'd go.......

Used to send the new mechanics out for a few yards of flight line.....

The best story was told to me by a Marine Helicopter pilot.

He convinced the platoon of infantry that he was supposed to carry that the battery in the aircraft was dead, so they had to push start it.

They pushed it down the taxiway, he locked up the breaks as he pushed the start switch for the APU; (auxiliary power unit) the little turbine spun up with all the appropriate noise and exhaust smells.

He said they were all cheering as they climbed on board to fly away!

I've always wanted to try it. Didn't figure I could keep a straight enough face:evil:

I forgot about this. It's been on a nail in my garage for about 20 years. Not my picture, but mine's identical:
