Anyone repurpose their floppy disk storage?

I was going thru some stuff in the attic of my garage and there I came across a box with 4 lockable 5-1/4" floppy disc storage units. In reviewing I figured I'd hold off before chucking them into the reclycleables until I check with you guys. So any of you repurpose these things, if so for what?

Some of the 5 1/4" storage boxes are just the right size to store CDs and DVDs. If yours fit, you get one more use out of them before the CDs and DVDs become obsolete and you have to toss the entire mess.

The only floppy storage left around here holds my CP/M 2.2 disks. I'm sure it's coming back and this DOS/Windows stuff will be just a passing fad.

Was gonna say the same thing. Some of those storage units work great for CD/DVD's

They are perfect for storing sanding and cutting disks.I have a couple plastic book-style floppy storage boxes that are only about 3/4" thick, these are perfect for keeping 5 inch sanding disks together according to grit, and they keep the disks from curling up. They are also fine for keeping my 4 1/2" cutoff wheels together. I also use a floppy/CD storage box with a flip-top and dividers to keep sandpaper that has been cut into quarter sheets for my palm sander and the hook&loop disks for my random orbit sander organized.

yep - sanding disks for my ROS collection. I use the plastic tabbed dividers to separate the disks by grit

Floppies? My wife hates floppies.....

Oh...you mean as in computers? Tossed that stuff out years ago...non of our computers even have drives for them....cases are long gone....

I'm still working out storage solutions in the garage...but I'm finding that stuff like that is not really effecient....

Huh... I have 8 boxes of new 5 1/4" flops right next to me. Does it mean our technology is getting old if we still use these?

Many years ago I repurposed them to hold down the bottom of the trashcan.
