Anyone store sockets on wall mounted magrails?

I’m back to living in an apartment for a while and I have my tool cart in a closet that’s hard to access. I had an idea of taking my magnetic VIM mag rails and creating a cool display in the hallway of my apartment where the sockets are on display on the wall. might look cool and if I need one, easier than me digging the cart out of the closet.

Then I thought when I get back into a house with a garage, I could keep this on the garage wall. havnt Really seen rubs before. Anyone do this?

I’m not sure. Most girls I talk to in their late 20s, early 30s that are in my dating age range tell me they love I can fix stuff. Most american men born after 1990 can’t then a screwdriver to save their life. Also women love a guy with hobbies. Most men born after 1990 play video games as a hobby.

probably depends on age range. If you’re dating women in their late 40s, early 50s, maybe they want a clean cut IT nerd who can pay someone to fix their stuff. But girls in their 20s and 30s are super impressed I can fix things.

I keep some of my socket rails in my garage on a metal cabinet for quick access outside my tool box. Go for it! You have a point regarding men that can fix things women and men are always impressed.

Please note while my girlfriend now wife initially thought it was great that I was handy, it has now reversed and now I am getting my balls busted for having too many tools and spending too much time playing with my tools. Funny how these things work.

I do have one rail on my HF cart for a few favorite sockets, adapters and short extensions that's mounted on the lid. Now that I think about it should be my one magrail v2. The magnetic suction on that thing is so strong its perfect for vertical mounting applications.

I applaud the out-of-the-box approach and design aesthetic. That being said, a hallway probably isn’t the best place. Do you have any nooks in your apartment? I used to keep my gunsmith tools on the wall next to my pantry. It was a small 500 sq ft apartment so it had all these little nooks where cabinets ended or there was a half-closet. My back door leading to the shared stairwell had like a 6-8” space between the door casing and the wall perpendicular to it. That would make a better use of space.

As far as women, there was a viral trend not to long ago for women to pick-up blue collar dudes. Not sure if that is still kicking. I’m the only one in my social circle doing blue collar work for a living and has the ability to work on stuff. It didn’t help me with any of the ladies back then. And my wife would go ballistic if I had tools anywhere outside of the garage and the basement.

My girlfriend saw this comment and brought it up to her friend.

They said if they saw that they would think "what a jerk"......"but he's probably hot".....then went on curiously speculating about a random hypothetical guy who would say that for a good 10 minutes with mostly good things to say.
