Anyone try this $150 compressor at Sears?

Wasn't looking to buy a compressor yet, but definitely want one once I get my flooring in....at this price it seems a no-brainer.

Does this work good? I would be using it for mostly finish nailing, doing my fascia, blowing out the garage, mechanical for removing stubborn bolts/nuts (I like hand tools better) and then general tire inflations.http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00916728000P?keyword=compressor

Could you give us a hint of which air compressor you speak of, thank you.

My wife gave me one as a gift a few years ago. It was LOUD, even in my 1800 square foot garage. I researched and found that it was 90+ decibels, louder that the threshold where hearing protection is required.
I returned it and bought a more expensive quiet unit, with a belt and low RPM pump.

I too had the 33-gallon version of that and loud doesn't begin to describe it. I took it back and exchanged it for the vertical version of this one. The vertical one isn't in the online catalog right now. The oiled motors are about half as loud as the oil-less ones.

That does seem like a good price. I might just pick one up myself. Right now, there is a promotion that will get you $10 off and one could sell the pneumatic tools that come with the set. (Just the impact drivers goes for $30 on Ebay.) By the time you are done, the true cost would only be about $100 which is not bad for what it is. I really want a better compressor but considering I have a baby on the way, I'm not expecting to have the cash, space or free time to justify the compressor I want.

For the price that's good deal. Any compressor is better than no compressor. If you don't mind the noise, the price is excellent.

Ewwww... $124.88 for Oversized Delivery. Not such a good deal after all. (No pick up in store available)

150 bucks for a 26 gallon air compressor, with accessories? for air nailing and tire inflation? great price. Ever tried pumping up tires with a hand pump? worth 150 bucks in back pain alone.

I have that compressor. Incredibly loud. And when it comes to using a 1/2" impact it's about useless. Air ratchets, die grinders, air hammers, and a 3/8" impact works good with it.

only $125 shipping :spit:

edit: Joe, you beat me to it

If I could pick it up, I might get one.

We have quite a few sears around here that sometimes have 'internet only' products at them.

I figured if it was worth it I'd take a drive around them.

Probably just hold off on a higher powered/quieter unit.

That compressor would drown out a batallion of crying babies. Go for it.

No kidding. I have one of them. I keep a package of underwear hanging on the compressor, because I need a new pair every time it kicks on unexpectedly. I'm getting tired of patching the holes in the ceiling from me jumping every time.

I have the 33 gallon version and is it loud ya, but honestly so is everything else in my garage, seems to echo. It shows to be 78dba and I can't find the listing on others and don't have others to compare to, does anybody know how that rates to others?

Being I am a weekend warrior I only turn the compressor on as needed and I just use the cheap foam ear plugs. I normally will be making a lot of noise anyway grinding or chiseling a car I am trying to restore.
Bottom line it provides plenty of air for me and I liked the price.

my $.02
