I am about to finally start insulating the walls of my shop. There currently is no vapor barrier and likely won't be as it's basically a converted pole barn. I am considering using FSK paper above 8' as I'll have OSB on the bottom 8' all the way around. I will be painting the OSB white to help reflect light better.

My question is, has anybody used FSK paper on their walls with the white side facing the shop area? It seems like this would cover the unsightly insulation as well as add great reflection properties for the lighting.

Also if somebody knows of a good alternative to this please let me know.

How tight are you going to make it?
If it is going to sealed up like a currently built house then you will need vapor control.
If it will be a bit “leaky” then don’t worry about it.
The vapor will follow the heat out any leaks.

White wall paper above the damage line sounds like a good idea.

Not looking to seal it up too tight, just doesn't make sense for me financially. In the end it's still just a shop.

In thinking about this a little more I think 6 mil plastic would work if I can find it in white. It would act as a vapor barrier and have reflective properties as well. I really don't need all the benefits that FSK paper has to offer, it can get spendy real fast when covering a large are like a 32'x54' shop with 20' high peaks.
