Anyone use Muriatic Acid to Flush Radiators...?

Everyone please be careful using muratic acid from the hardware store. Muratic acid is actually hydrochloric acid RENAMED to Muratic acid. Highly dangerous!!

It's VERY dangerous, both in contact with skin AND inhaling fumes.

Having said that, i LOVE Muratic acid! Glad it worked out for you all.

When i have something rusty and gross that needs derusting, a quick couple hour bath in 50% water and 50% muratic acid (18% hydrochloric acid) cleans it up fast. It's magic. What ***** is i have to wear gloves, long sleeve shirts and pants, full face mask from harbor freight, and respirator.

The stuff is so awesome but so dangerous that i'm always VERY careful.

Even at 18% which is what muratic(hydrochloric acid) is sold in at most hardware and big box stores, it's still VERY dangerous!! Be careful all! When working with it, ALWAYS have a LARGE box of arm and hammer baking soda ON DECK just in case of a spill or if you get some on your skin.

I use Muriatic to etch copper and brass, and it is very aggressive. Can't believe it doesn't eat right thru a radiator, as thin as they are.
Even a diluted mixture will eat down 0.040" in an hour's time during an etch.
Also remember if you need to dilute, to add acid to water, not the other way round!

Try using rdlyme instead, much safer and does just as good of a job
