anyone use proto premium pearhead ratchets?

I've got two 3/8 proto ratchets a 5249xlbl and a 5250xlbl about a year ago the 5249 stopped ratcheting, further inspection I found her selector had broken inside, I've since replaced it with an Armstrong maxx and now about a week ago I the 5250 started doing the same thing.
Has anyone had this experience? Contacted proto when the 5249 broke and they said "no need to send the whole ratchet , just send the broken parts." I stillhaven't done it.
I'd rather just send them a bag of ratchet.

Has anyone else had this problem with the premium ratchets? I've had the legendary 5450s and 5449s with no problems but now this with the premiums.

I have the 3/8ths. It hasn't seen much use... but no issues or breakage.

At least its good to hear that they're responsive on their warranty? I've never had to warranty a Proto tool.

Ive got the j5449xl and j5450xl, the long and short 1/2 drives. Have not had a single hiccup in two years, the way these feel i thought they were indestructible. The 3/8 and 1/4 ratchets are on my shopping list but maybe I need to rethink that.

I have all three drive sizes regular length and the long 1/2, no issues, plenty of hard use.

I have both 3/8 and 1/2 and haven't had any problems yet. Love them very nice quality too!
