Anyone Use Quick Adapters AKA Quick Spinners?

These fit directly on fasteners, then you have the option of putting a ratchet on it to start tightening and finish loosening fasteners.

Or is a gimmick and good-old finger tightening and loosening the way to go?

Is one of these better than the other?

Koken Z-EAL 3756z:

KTC BE3-Q:

It looks like the KTC has a plastic shell. I wonder how durable that is?

I tried amazon.co.jp to get these at half price, but Amazon-sold products are unavailable. I don't know if that means they won't ship to the US or are out of stock. Anyone know?

Thanks!

Now I'm almost completely sold on the Koken. Looking at the KTC, do you see any advantage(s) of it over the Koken, other than being able to find it quickly (LOL)?

Go with the Koken, I actually chose to get the quick spinner adapters/Reducers style so they serve a dual purpose. Now I have the 3/8-1/4 Spinner, 1/2-3/8 Spinner and the 1/2-1/4 Spinner. Oh and the 3/8 has two styles a regular size and a compact one for 3/8 in 1/4 body ratchets.

Those sound great, too. I'm having trouble finding them. Can you give me part numbers?

I use those for spark plugs when the socket is already on the spark plug and I need to rotate the square drive of the ratchet to line up with the square drive of the socket. Working between engine and firewall is all done by feel on sideways V6.

Posted about this in the Japan thread. I have trouble gripping fiddly 1/4" sockets so recently purchased a Koken spinner. It definitely helps but negates the quick release on ratchets.

For me it's not needed when using knurled Koken extensions but is helpful when using smaller sockets directly on a ratchet.

The Betas seem nice (low profile). If you can find them...

^ That looks to be an adapter to increase drive size. eg 1/4" to 3/8"

Quick spinners retain the same drive size.

I have one that belonged to my grandfather, came on a flex head PlugMaster ratchet. Was a godsend back in the day when I changed many spark plugs on many different cars for friends. Gave me a good grip on the spark plug socket, and the ability to align the plug into the head correctly. Mine is about 1/2-3/4” thick black plasticky material.

Just stumbled upon a set of 3 of the GW adaptors. QR, too!

I might have a spare or two of the discs. What drive size do you need?

Yeah, shoot, no big deal. Send me your address in a PM and I'll go out in the shop today and dig one out.

I've been the recipient of so much in regards to tools and info from the forum I try to do they same. This is one small thing I can do as a payback. Enjoy!
