anyone have any experience with the NES thread repair tools? The kind where you tighten it around the bolt and it matches the threads and cleans them up by turning the tool around the bolt?

I've been looking at them for a while and if they actually work, it would be well worth the investment. My guess is that they probably won't handle too much as far as damaged threads but would probably work well for cleaning up an otherwise respectable bolt.

just get a new bolt, their 5cents ,that thing would need to re-thread 1,200 bolts before you would break even.

Not all bolts are that easy, some are specific to the application, like accessory or pulley mounts. You could always go to the dealer, only during business hours, and we all know how cheap they are....:lol_hitti
